Why we built Toothlens?
Toothlens was born out of a conversation with a young software engineer who delayed treatment because it felt “too expensive” and “optional".
It sparked a bigger question in our founder’s mind: Why is preventive dental care still treated as a luxury in India? As Dr.Manoj, our founder puts it, “In medical practice, insurance coverage is a given. But in dentistry? We’ve somehow normalised that caring for your teeth is optional".
We realised this isn’t just about one person’s choice, it’s a systemic gap. India has world-class dentists, but almost no outpatient dental insurance. Which means millions skip care until it’s too late, too costly, or too painful.
Toothlens exists to change that, by making preventive dental care accessible, affordable, and a part of everyday healthcare.
